PACC vs TCC
Headline: PACC beats TCC by 66 runs and reaches Elite Eight for fourth year in row
|
Match Report PACC vs. TCC in the pre quarter finals, Sounds familiar because it was happening 2 years in a row except home ground was different this year. Both umpires arrived on time and PACC testing its will stepped in to the ground with a promising attitude of playing the game with full efforts regardless what the outcome would be. PACC won the toss and didn’t think twice before electing to bat. PACC knew its task is harder this year with mentally tough TCC at their home ground and fresh off being crowned MACC East Champions. Waseem and Mansoor started off PACC innings with watchful batting against Aravind and Vijay. Mansoor decided to display sportsmanship and walked on a caught behind which most batsman would wait even after umpire’s finger thus making it an easier decision. Atiq decided to have an off day while Haroon was in striking mode with two huge sixes and a four in no time. This proved to be only highlight of the top order other than Waseem’s steady inning as it completely collapsed. PACC 50 runs for 7 wickets, Time to pack up right but wait we still have game to go as Bilal and Aqeel decided to fight back. Aqeel got busy in launching huge sixes while Bilal held on to the other end for a vital 45 runs partnership for the 8th wicket. Brilliant and accurate throw from Aravind caught Bilal with a surprise as he failed to ground his bat. Mushtaq and Junaid made sure recovery job is completed as Aqeel scored brilliant 60 runs with 6 sixes. Young Rakesh showed outstanding performance by claiming 4 wickets. 145 runs in 35 overs seemed very easy task for TCC which included likes of Anand, cover drive master Ravi, Shibhu, Aravind, Vijay and not to mention Rajesh and Mukki. PACC decided to take one wicket at a time. Anand was in the striking mood but he lasted only few overs as Junaid had edged him to Murtaza for a well judged catch. Soon after Haroon got frustrated Ravi caught behind and trapped Shibu plumb in front for an easy LBW. Waseem bowled Mukki with a quicker one and than came the turning point of the game. Vijay hit one deep to Mid wicket and kamran took a well judge catch but in the process he stepped back and front thus creating doubt in the umpires mind that he crossed boundary line. After consultation for few minutes umpires decided to call it a six. It turned the game around because Aravind got tired of accurate line and length and decided to launch Atiq over Long Off (thinking there are only 4 wickets down compare to 5 if Vijay could have been declared out) but instead in to the safe hands of Junaid. Mansoor bowled the most exciting over of TCC’s innings which took game completely out of TCC’s hands and in to PACC’s favor. First ball Vijay was brilliantly caught and bowled. Second ball wide down the leg and Raj decides to take his chance against Haroon who threw a laser guided throw for a direct hit (avenging Bilal’s run out) and easy run out decision for the leg umpire. Next ball Prashant pops one towards short cover and Bilal steals moment of the game by full length diving catch and was well appreciated by the teammates. Captain Rajesh got mesmerized as he was depending on few long hits by Raj and Vijay to bring the victory home instead he had to attempt long hit but very well caught by Nasir at deep long off. It was matter of time before PACC celebrated their first round victory. It was team effort all the way with Aqeel stealing the show for his timely innings of 60 runs. Great to see some familiar faces to support MACC including Ketan, Samay, Faraz, Satbir, Pranav, Rao, Keuyr,Cashif and Suhail. Thank you guys. A big thank you goes to Kamran and Mr. Happy to support PACC with their fielding efforts. Also thanks to Shami for wishing PACC good luck while in France and Naeem bahi for being loyal supporter of PACC although we missed Mr. Naveed. Game was played in a professional environment and TCC wished PACC all the way. Let’s make it happen guys!!!! One Game at a time. Man of the Match: Aqeel Sabri for his Heroic inning of 60 Umpire Report Good and Consistent umpiring by Kartik(CCC) and Niraj (CWCC). Thanks very much for a job well done. There was heated moment when Kamran caught Vijay at the boundary but umpires had it under control. incidents like these prove to us why we need rope at the boundary in addition to the cones. |
